Google Play Data Safety & Apple Guideline 5.1.1(v) Compliant Resource

At Camino, we champion data sovereignty. Under Apple App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(v),Google Play Developer Policy on Account Deletion, and GDPR Article 17 ("Right to Erasure"), you have the absolute right to initiate permanent deletion of your account and all associated personal records, either directly inside the mobile application or using this external web portal without needing to re-install the app.

Permanent & Irreversible: Initiating an account deletion permanently purges your user profile, authentication credentials, daily step histories, cycling distance logs, coin balances, Season Pass progression, streak milestones, and unredeemed partner vouchers. Once processed, this data cannot be recovered.

Option 1: Submit Web Deletion Request (Without Reinstalling App)

If you have uninstalled Camino from your iPhone or Android phone, or no longer have access to your mobile device, use the verified deletion form below to register your account purge request:

Submit this form if you have already uninstalled Camino or cannot access your mobile device.

Must match the email address associated with your Google Sign-In or Camino account.

Option 2: Delete Directly Inside the Mobile App (Instant)

If you currently have the Camino app installed on your smartphone, you can trigger instant account erasure:

 On Apple iOS (iPhone)
  1. Open the Camino app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap the Settings icon (top-right corner of the Dashboard).
  3. Scroll down to the Account & Security section.
  4. Tap "Delete My Account" (highlighted in red).
  5. Enter your confirmation password or authenticate with Face ID / Touch ID.
  6. Your session terminates immediately, and your remote database records are instantly de-indexed and purged.
🤖 On Google Android
  1. Open the Camino app on your Android smartphone.
  2. Tap the Profile / Settings gear on the top navigation bar.
  3. Select "Data & Privacy" → "Delete Account & History".
  4. Confirm the prompt. All local cached step increments and remote Firebase database nodes are erased.

4. Statutory Retention Exceptions (Danish Law)

Under European data protection law (GDPR Article 17(3)(b)), the right to erasure does not apply to data that we are legally mandated to retain to comply with statutory legal obligations.

  • Danish Bookkeeping Act (Bogføringsloven, LBK nr 700 af 24/05/2022): If you have ever engaged in taxable financial transactions or commercial merchant billings with us, Danish law mandates that accounting vouchers and transaction records be retained for 5 years from the end of the relevant financial year.
  • Standard Consumer Free Accounts: For general consumers who utilize Camino's free fitness rewards without commercial billing, 100% of all personal data, health metrics, and account records are permanently purged with zero retention.

5. Processing Timeline & Confirmation SLA

  • In-App Deletions: Executed immediately in real time.
  • Web Portal Requests: Validated and queued within 24 hours; permanently purged from all primary databases and backups within 30 calendar days, in full compliance with GDPR Article 12(3) and app store requirements.
